We are delighted to introduce you to Mus’Art, short for the Musa Heritage Gallery, a developing centre for the arts and culture of the Western Grass-fields of Cameroon (North West and West Provinces). Initially created in 1996 as a family museum in memory of Cameroonian artists Daniel Musa and his elder son John, to preserve wood sculptures by these late artists, Mus’Art is expanding and diversifying its collection to cover the Western Grass-fields. It currently has expanded to include three components; an Arts and Crafts Museum; an Information Centre on Culture and Development and a Centre for Music.
It is our aim to expand the collection so it is fully representative of the region. Since its founding Mus’Art has continued to expand, to reach its GOAL of building a major centre for the cultural heritage of the Western Grass-fields and as an important source of cultural information on its arts and culture.
